We want to report on this fantastic beach and boater park. It is just not so easy to find on the southern end of Key Largo. The best part is the location puts you mile or so from the US-1 Highway and only locals know about this spot!
It is nice here and there are plenty of hotels and rental properties to get near the boat ramp. That is one of the big draws, and you can dump the kayak into the water so easy too.
One of the better parks for those with young children in the 8 months to 10 years old range. Before they are big swimmers, since it is shallow and very mild. Great park for learning to swim. Our kids took swimming lessons here and love to scuba dive now!
This park is darn big, but not as large as Pennekamp or Everglades National Park. Those are excellent to see and are really big parts of the South Florida ecosystem. You can fish from the shore if you have a fishing license and take your catch to the Pilot House and they cook it up.
