It was a true pleasure to eat in an authentic replica of the famous Brown Derby restaurant. When we were younger it was the rides, now we are hot after the really good menus. The Hollywood Brown Derby opens each day starting with lunch at 11:30am. A super mid day snack are the blue lump crab spring rolls.
The Hollywood Studios Brown Derby cafe is super. This was the landmark meeting place of the stars, right down to its signature cobb salad and grapefruit cake. Just how genuine can a place be, it looks like the original restaurant all way down to the tables and the pictures of the cartoon characters on the walls.
The thing about these kinds of restaurants is, you want to get your seat and go ahead and get your menu figured out. That'll take a little while, but once you get your order in, it is time to look around and check out everything that's on the walls.
I love looking at different types of pictures of the old days, and this is the place to do that. On the menu is a really good fettuccine alfredo with shrimp, for those that are really hungry and need the pasta fuel to get back out and do some more walking.
Their best-selling item is their famous cobb salad. They have a salad recipe that is special because it includes chives, avocado, crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes, eggs, bacon, turkey breast, and chopped greens.
We get asked all the time how we can afford to take our family on a Disney resort vacation every year. The All-Star Movies Food Court is cheap and excellent. I must admit, it hasn't been easy, but we have learned a few tips and tricks throughout our twenty year marriage. Our family loves to visit and eat at new places.
