Question: what hotel do you recommend for Universal Studios? ? For two adults and our two kids. Answer: I am very fond of the Portofino resort, it has the elegance for adults and fantastic pool area that children and all with rave over. Walk or take the little boat to the Theme Park entrance. It is a winner because of the location, pool, spa, and prime restaurants.
If you jog from the waterfront near the Boat Dock area, it takes about sixty seconds to get to Citywalk. It is that close. We always just walked, the Boat Ride is not needed. I think they did the boats to be like Disney, but Disney is spread out more and so much larger. It is a very good location to enjoy City Walk bars. Portofino bayside hotel at Universal Orlando is my pick.
At the property you can get plenty of food. Pick between sal's market deli, splendido pizzeria, and the Thirsty Fish. All of these are Great with Kids. City Walk has a zillion Places to Eat and that area is better for dining. There are Good Places at the hotel and wine-beer too. They offer twenty four hour room service.
Four Nights and it was excellent. Fantastic is the zone, and I will search for some sitting cushions.
