Swimming is a great thing to do out on the water, and always have your snorkel mask to find the treasures. Just above Marathon Florida is a fantastic little Beach Park. We like to stop here for a picnic on our trips down to our Cudjoe Key Condo, to take a swim.
The best activities at the park is snorkeling and Kayaking, or have a picnic. The water is crystal clear and calm on any decent weather day. I love The Beach Shoreline at Curry RV Park.
Kayaks and snorkeling gear can be rented just stop at quiznos for subs and have a picnic. It provides picnic facilities and restrooms. Full-facility campsites and vacation cabins are available, and the park is open from 8 am to sundown, 365 days a year. The islands of Marathon offer public beaches for sun bathing, swimming and kayaking.
Walking The Beach first thing in the morning looking for turtle nests is an awesome experience. Do not miss rotary children's park this park is located at 7575 Overseas Highway. Bahia Honda is an excellent place to see wading birds and shorebirds. Sombrero Beach is a turtle nesting beach.
From April through October it is not unusual to have loggerhead turtles coming on to the beach at night to lay their eggs. The City of Marathon is responsible for surveying the beaches during turtle nesting season. Coco Plum Beach is a turtle nesting beach also. The nature center introduces nature lovers to the islands plants and animals. Stop at Publix or Kentucky Fried Chicken for picnic supplies.
