You will want to travel a bit when you have more than a day or two in the area. We tend to do the first couple of days in the Daytona Beach City Center, then start to branch out to the south after that. North of the area is pretty much just residential and beaches, not too active. But to the south is Ponce Inlet, Port Orange, and New Smyrna Beach. Our favorite beach park has plenty of parking. Winterhaven Beach is a family spot, not as popular for Surfing. I love it!
We like this place a lot, and it has always been free parking. Not too far away is a nice place to eat and you can walk or bicycle ride to it. The restaurant is named Crabby Joe's Deck & Grill, on the map it is at 3701 South Atlantic Avenue. It is in the city of Daytona Beach Shores.
Our time share is not too far away so we come here a lot. You can rent for darn cheap if you stay off the beach. We East Wind Condominiums at 125 Inlet Harbor Road because it is cheaper on the bayside. It only takes a minute or two to get to the Beach Shoreline.
