Once you arrive, we use the bicycles with the baskets to put purchases in to carry to the hotel. I think it is better to buy food supplies in Key West rather than back on mainland. A twelve pack of beer fits right in the rental bicycle basket.
Buying local is fun in this town. There are many more options for Old Town Groceries. Grocery buying does not have to be Publix or Winn-Dixie.
Support our local stores for all types of Shopping and dining. My picks are the White Street Bistro for dining Ross Dress for Less for shopping deals.
Five Brothers Grocery is a good one and not that far from Charlie's, at 930 Southard Street. We always stop at the local markets on our trips. We stop here for cold drinks all of the time on bicycles. Local stores give Key West charm like hammocks searching, but we do love Home Depot. I went over today and ordered the coolest ever flat-top oven! I try to buy local, but the over is special. Home Depot Key West has been here since 1995 and they are local now!
The total was $445 after tax and $21 for the power connection, and they would not let me use the old one. The process to buy was a breeze and you pay up front. It arrives on Thursday to me at Big Pine Key! They call you the night before to tell you approximately when, and then they call you a half hour a head. Very easy and it is a good move to do.
