Chef Mario's Cafe

Chef Mario's Cafe

What a spot is the chef Mario's cafe smack in the middle of the eau gallie arts district. You can find it easy at 1437 highland avenue next to the Eau Gallie Fishing Pier. Make sure you check the hours before you come over here as they do close in the middle of the afternoon between the lunch menu and then it shifts over to a dinner menu. I really got psyched up about getting some traditional stone oven prepared Pizza as the ratings of this restaurant were really high. We always like to read the restaurant reviews before we pick out a place to go and this one passed all of the tests.

Once you get in here and start looking at some of the other people that are eating and seeing their plates, no matter what you are fixated on before you arrived it could change. If you see somebody that sitting next to you get a big plate of lasagna than most likely you're going to be getting the same thing. For some reason I'm always thinking about pizza and all the different types of toppings you can put on them. Italian dishes come in all shapes and sizes that's why it's a good idea to look at the menu online before you head here. Somebody in your group will be so hungry, and you don't want to make them wait.

One thing you need to be aware of is the historic nature of the building that this restaurant is located within. There's a monument outside which highlights the details behind this fantastic building and historic area. The restaurant location was the first state bank building which was originally open for business way back in 1883. What a fantastically beautiful old building that displays all of the character of the old days. How lucky are they to put a restaurant right here in the center of it all with the building such as this.

We like going out to eat in Melbourne because it's more than just a great meal with all the sightseeing you can do after. This little historic district is gorgeous and perfect to do around sunset time with your sweetheart in hand. I think this is the perfect Friday night date restaurant for a couple. You can have your meal, maybe split a gourmet handcrafted pizza, then you can walk around. The restaurant reviews were correct as this is a wonderful place and would fit just fine over there at the Italy Showcase at Epcot.

Put this Melbourne area restaurant on your to do list when you are vacationing in Brevard County Florida. It's only about twenty minutes up to this little historic district from Cocoa Beach, so the people that are in that area can get out and check out another zone and do a day trip. What fun we had. It is the best italian gourmet restaurant we found in Melbourne, and it's open for lunch and dinner.
