Our cruise ship layover at the Port of Key West was excellent. We rented bikes and explored all the cool places and of course that included the southernmost point buoy. A couple of other things nearby that you will enjoy include the East Martello Museum, Higgs Beach, and the White Street Pier.

Hotels by the Southernmost Point Buoy Surprisingly, you can stay quiet affordable on this part of the island, this is where the bargain hotels are. We have been checking into prices, hotels are cheaper towards upper Duval and out to Stock Island.

The Southernmost Point Sign was Stolen The funny part of this great Florida Keys Landmark is that before 1983 they used signs which read the same: Southernmost Point in the USA. However, signage was easy to steal and after some late night drinks on Duval, people kept taking it as a souvenir.
