The value you receive at Pelican Cove is outstanding. The summer discounts for Florida residents just puts the hotel over the top, so we come back for more every year. A tip would include visiting Flounders Park, just north over Snake Creek Bridge.
Very good places to stay on the Island Nice location at mile marker 84.5, in the heart of the action. You do have to cross a little bridge on bicycles. It takes about 45 seconds but you are in traffic, on the bicycle lane right next to traffic. After the bridge, the path moves away from the Overseas Highway. It is important to know, as this is a bicycle riding town.
We give it our Very Best Rating You get a lot with this particular location. That sports bar across the street is amazing if you need to catch a game. I forgot the name, but it is a couple of hundred yards up the street on the other side. Down from Miami (Go South Florida!). When you come our way, the spot to try is the Versaille's Restaurant (add link please). The Keys and Miami has the best in Cuban Food. Cannot get enough of the Ceviche Tropical!
Happy Hours are what the Florida Keys is all about! It is so nice here. One thing we loved is using the bikes. Just down the street is a fun place. We landed at the Girls Night Out on Tuesdays at the Green Turtle. This is a cool spot to eat and drink at Mile Marker 81. Now we have our Happy Hour bar, all about seafood and lots of fun.
