We very much enjoyed the trail and waterfront. Bicycles are the best way to go, just do not take the tour if it is too hot. You will not have much shade on the path ways, but there is plenty of shady stopping areas and boardwalks.

Island Landmarks for all Ages Last year we visited this Sanibel landmark we think every person should see. This is real nature, not the Disney prepared stuff that is fenced in. A great attraction that goes on the definitive island vacation checklist. Do not forget your camera.
