Where to go swimming in St. Petersburg?
I would go to the main beach for swimming, like Fort Desoto or Pass-a-Grille. This park is a boat ramp and children's play zone. Not a normal beach, but is so easy to get to from Old Northeast St. Pete.

Boating or Kayak Hot Spot
Maximo and Fort Desoto Park are just the best spots in Pinellas County for getting out on the water. You start right on the southern tip, and wow is this place nice. An easy place to paddle since it is protected.

Expect a bit of wait time on the heavy duty weekends for St. Pete Beach area boating. Good parking for trailers, which does not typically fill up. Pinellas County for Boaters and Kayaks Too!
